BLASI – ISM-4000/24VDC 4-channel multiplexer

The BLASI ISM-4000/24VDC 4-channel multiplexer provides centralized control for Pantron through-beam light barrier networks protecting personnel across TA-6/TA-7 industrial doorways. DIN-rail mounted in control panels, this programmable amplifier simultaneously powers four transmitter/receiver pairs through plug or screw terminals, multiplexing 4kHz infrared signals with 18-34ms cycle time to eliminate interference between closely spaced beams monitoring wide openings up to 60m when using high-power ITA transmitters with IRL/IRH receivers.

Menu-driven LCD interface of this 4-channel multiplexer enables per-channel configuration including 2 manual/4 automatic gain levels, light/dark switching, 0-60s delay timers, and light curtain mode consolidating multiple beams to single safety output. Master/slave synchronization supports up to 40 cascaded channels across multiple ISM units for complete perimeter protection. Continuous sensor monitoring displays alignment status, contamination levels, and wire faults via diagnostic screens and multi-color LEDs.

Four independent PhotoMOS switching outputs (60V/100mA, 20ms response) signal beam interruptions to Siemens PLC safety relays through WAGO terminal blocks, meeting emergency stop timing requirements. Separate alarm output activates on contamination thresholds while error output indicates internal faults. Analog output (0-10V) enables signal strength monitoring and external test input supports safety circuit validation. Operating from 24VDC across -20°C to +60°C with IP20 housing, the ISM-4000 delivers fail-safe Category 2 performance ensuring maximum personnel safety for continuous high-traffic Dubai industrial automation environments.
